Yes. This console does not permanently attach to the airframe, and is NOT designed to do so. As a matter of fact, it does not need to be permanently attached! It is designed for a snug fit between the two front seats. This is considered a portable, pilot installed device. Portable, meaning it can easily be installed or removed between flights, with ease and without tools. Think of the console as similar to a hard-shelled pilot flight bag. The FAA studied previous renditions of a similar console many years ago. It is noted in the FAA safety letter after that study, to add the console to every preflight checklist! Check the console for proper placement, and ensure that in no way can the console interfere with flight controls, or the operation of any flight. DO NOT PERMANENTLY ATTACH THE CONSOLE TO YOUR AIRFRAME.
The console weighs very little, and is located roughly in middle of your main CG point of the aircraft. As such, the console should not adversely affect your aircraft / performance. However, if the console is weighted down with a lot of items, each pilot should check their specific weight and balance.
No, the fit is designed to be snug between the front seats of the aircraft. We also install a piece of carpet tape to the bottom of each unit. Once you decide the optimum placement for your console, make note of this location. Lift the console up, remove the backing on the tape, and reinstall the console. This temporary tape prevents the unit from sliding fore and aft. In most cases, this isn’t even necessary. If used, the tape does NOT harm your carpet / floor material.
These consoles are custom to each buyer, and are non-returnable. We briefly speak to each customer before purchase, to discuss the particular details of your aircraft. We want these to fit perfectly in your plane, and want to ensure that you are ordering the correct item.
No. Each console is custom built / shipped for each buyer / aircraft, and returns are NOT accepted. Please check the dimensions listed for each console before purchase. Make sure your aircraft has the required spacing.
